Getting to know digital artist liljodsz

One glance at @liljodsz's IG profile and their distinct style is immediately clear.

Ranging from playful doodles to detailed scenes featuring easily distinguishable artist characters, liljodsz is creating lovable digital pieces & animations that are beautifully executed.

But in their humble opinion, they are "just a kid who loves to draw cartoon."

We chatted with the hip hop-inspired digital artist about their creative work, influences, and favorite music.

SOFTSIDE: What are your preferred medium(s) to work with?

liljodsz: I usually work with digital art but recently I've started exploring painting and sketching.

SOFTSIDE: Can you tell us more about your work? Where do you draw inspiration from?

liljodsz: I started drawing when I was six years old and I loved drawing cartoon characters. As I grew, I noticed that I got more inspired to draw while listening to music.

Ever since then, I loved drawing rappers in my own cartoonish style and giving a visual to the vibe of the music that I listen to.

SOFTSIDE: How long do your pieces usually take you to make? Do you work daily or do you create when you're feeling inspired by something in particular?

liljodsz: I usually finish a piece around 2-3 days and I do my best to keep creating everyday whether I'm inspired or not.

SOFTSIDE: Favorite/dream music artist you'd love to work with?

liljodsz: I've always been a big Chance the Rapper fan and I would love to do an artwork for him.

SOFTSIDE: Do you have a favorite piece you're most proud of?

liljodsz: My most favorite piece of work is the animation I did with 6lack in it. I just loved the vibe of his music and i felt like I captured it in the visual that i created.

SOFTSIDE: Any final thoughts? Do you have a shop we can refer fans to if they're interested in purchasing?

liljodsz: I have been drawing for a long time now but I am still learning and growing as I go. I love looking at other artists and get inspired by their passion for their craft.

I have an online store in INPRNT and I am currently open for commissions.
