The Chloe Moriondo Enthusiast

We recently chatted with *Sky, the Australian fan and artist behind the Chloe Moriondo fan art Instagram account @foxxskull!

Sky’s Chloe-inspired illustrations showcase a beautiful consistency in style, color palette, and medium. This consistency is thoughtfully balanced with versatility: every piece they create is very much a unique perspective of Chloe, expressing various moods and poses accompanied by playful accessories, occasional lyrics, and even guest characters (namely, Chloe's cat, Poppy!)

The cherry on top? That Chloe Moriondo actively engages with the posts.

While we are strong believers that the number of likes and external recognition one receives does not measure or validate the beauty of their artistry, it's heartwarming to see the global superstar simply care about her fans' work. She rarely misses, too — nearly every post on the @foxxskull account is liked by and/or commented on by Chloe Moriondo.

Chloe's sincere dedication to her community has always been felt by her fan base. She relates to them and makes them feel seen. This small example shines a light on this.

We wanted to learn a little more about the context of @foxxskull. A self-proclaimed "Chloe Moriondo Enthusiast," Sky shared with us why they started their account, reasons they love Chloe's fans, and more...

SOFTSIDE: How long have you had your @foxxskull account and why did you start it?

SKY: I’ve had this account since 2017, though at first it was a personal account where I also posted photos of my cats/friends. But in 2019, maybe 2018, after stressing and overthinking it for days, I changed it to an art account and I'm very happy I did!! At the time I was mostly posting Cavetown fan art and managed to gain followers and mutuals with the same interests and even made a few friends.

SOFTSIDE: What is special about Chloe fans?

SKY: I think Chloe’s fan base is just so, so great. I've only ever had positive experiences with this group — they’re all so sweet and I think it really shows just how amazing Chloe herself is and the positive influence she has!!

SOFTSIDE: How long have you been listening to her music? Has being a fan envolved for you over the years?

SKY: I first found Chloe back in 2018 after Cavetown had shared her first EP Rabbit Hearted. on Twitter and I had decided to give it a listen and instantly fell in love. I was 12 [years old] at the time and Chloe was 15-16 [years old]. I love that over the years, I’ve been able to watch her grow and, in a way, it feels that I’ve grown with her. I’ve changed a lot in these past years and so has she and I’m just so, so happy for Chloe and how far she’s come.

SOFTSIDE: Do you have a favorite song (and/or lyrics) by Chloe that means the most to you?

SKY: I think my all time favourite song from Chloe will always be "Little Moth." I’ve struggled so much over the years with my mental health and this song has always managed to bring me comfort and make me feel better, and I’ll always be grateful to her for that!!!

My very first piece of Chloe fan art was back in 2019 (pictured below) and I love that I’m still drawing her all these years later. Seeing the progress I’ve made is just crazy!
